Tabby (short coat) Cat

Hazey the Cat needs a home

Please contact [email protected] for more information about this pet.

Birthdate January 2010

Hazey is a mature, declawed brown, male tabby. When Hazey first approached his foster family they called him "Hazel", thinking he was female. That changed once he got comfortable enough to roll over and show his belly, which he loves to do! His name didn't change by much, in honor of his beautiful hazel eyes.

Hazey continued to be fed as an outdoor cat until recently, when his foster family noticed one of his eyes seemed to be seriously injured. He was taken to the vet where it was found that his cornea had been punctured (risks of living outdoors). The best option turned out to be removing the eye.

In order to ensure that Hazey healed from his surgery, the foster family prepared a spare room for him inside. It was unknown how Hazey would react once inside their home. He adjusted so well so quickly that it was obvious that he prefers to be inside. It was also discovered that Hazey had previously been declawed!!! No wonder he prefers his new indoor life, he never should have been outside.

Hazey is so happy to just hang out with people who love him, he would be the perfect companion in most situations. He loves gentle petting on his head and face. He likes to play with toys, but does not like "rough play" with people. His favorite activity is lying against his human friends while kneading the air. He loves to lay against people so much, that it's hard to get photos of him doing anything but lying next to people!

According to the vet, Hazey is in great health. He is as agile and graceful as he was even when he had two eyes. Give him a spot to lay next to you, and let him show you what true lifelong friendship is.
